Role: UX Designer x2

 

Location: Manchester (Some travel required to Germany)

 

Working Hours: 37.5

 

Job Purpose: The user experience designer must work to help the Thomas Cook Airlines Group product and leadership teams gain a deeper understanding of the users of their digital touch points.  Working across web, native app and other digital channels, you will work to create effortless experiences through the user journey or choosing, booking and flying with TCA.  Applying the understanding that close contact and observation with users will bring to the creation of intuitive product designs working closely with development teams and stakeholders to ensure business needs are blended seamlessly with those of the customer

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create intuitive user interfaces and experiences for customers, staff and other users of Thomas Cook Airlines digital products
  • Plan, design, organise, conduct and report on user research activities
  • Produce concept sketches, wireframes, prototypes, interaction specs and other artefacts to support an effective user centred product development process
  • Understand and advise on implementation of Thomas Cook visual designs working closely with the UI designers
  • Contribute to consistent UX design standards across the products
  • Develop and share a deep Understanding of TCA users and be a credible advocate for the user centred design process both internally and externally
  • Proactively identifies areas where UX can add value to the digital products

Capabilities Profile – technical skills/knowledge, experience & track record.

 

Must have:

 

  • Full spectrum of user research activities e.g. interviews, usability testing,  tree testing, card sorting, lab studies, persona development
  • Able to produce interactive prototypes to an appropriate fidelity for the phase of the process and the testing activity selected.
  • Highly collaborative and skilled at facilitation of collaborative design workshops and other stakeholder engagement activates
  • Comfortable working within an agile delivery squad and fully versed in lean UX methodology, enough to understand how much it just enough for the problem at hand and the associated budget/deadlines

 

 

 

 

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of working as a UX Designer in agile digital teams
  • Experience of travel and hospitality industry
  • Experience working in a large global business with remote teams

     

Qualifications, Training, Professional Memberships or Accreditations

 

  • Evidence attendance/completion at UX/CX training courses and conferences
