Group Procurement Category Manager - Marketing & Services (m/f/d)
Full-time, based in Oberursel


Occupying a category manager position in the Group Procurement team, you will need to develop an in-depth understanding of our business and suppliers. You will need to use your skill and knowledge to maximise cost performance and efficiencies. Your ability to communicate and influence at all levels, throughout our organisation, needs to be of the highest level. You will be managing a number of strategic procurement projects for Thomas Cook Group but also relevant local projects.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and lead sourcing plans for global and local Marketing expenditure that address key business requirements and optimising group synergies; using best practice procurement activity that is consistent with Group Procurement strategy, standards, tools, procedures.
  • Develop, implement and drive innovative procurement solutions to address business requirements and challenges whilst maximising value and ensuring delivery of breakthrough results.
  • Management of global sourcing initiatives for Marketing incl. negotiations
  • Leadership of interdisciplinary sourcing teams.
  • Drive collaboration and engagement with key business stakeholders in the group and/or within local subsidiaries ensuring the procurement strategy supports and addresses their key objectives and challenges
  • Develop and manage relationships with strategic suppliers, understanding contractual needs and supplier business strategies ensuring effective supplier and contract management to drive the maximum value from the supply base.
  • Ensure market information is up to date to enable competitive analysis and to develop risk management and mitigation plans for Marketing Procurement.
  • Keep updated regarding relevant procurement techniques as well as anticipating developments within relevant supply markets to enable the development of strategic sourcing plans.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Relevant procurement experience in the Marketing and Services area.
  • Superior negotiating skills with a track record of successful negotiations of agreements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, also under frequent changing priorities.
  • Strong project management skills as well as contract development and international sourcing.
  • Good sense for the numbers and financially literate.
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills.
  • High level of ‘ownership’ with an ability to think outside the box, innovate and constructively challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills managing stakeholders at all levels across Thomas Cook and the ability to market the services provided by procurement.
  • Highly motivated, confident, credible and trustworthy with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Computer literacy including Word and Excel along with e-procurement systems.
  • Business fluent in written and spoken German and English language.
