IT helped us to get our newly consolidated airline off the ground. You’ll keep it flying high.
Thomas Cook has been undergoing a wide-scale transformation, and the merger of our four airlines into one has been one of the biggest changes so far.
The merger of the four airlines’ processes and programmes allows for the sharing of data and knowledge. IT is bringing all four airlines together and by creating and delivering one shared platform it’s also helping to shape the airline’s future.
In this team, we handle all of the new airline’s technology needs – that includes crew planning programmes, route-based systems and online bookings.
Not only that, but we look after every single aspect of IT in house, from development to hosting, and from architecture to delivery. It makes this a very exciting and diverse environment with a real sense of ownership and empowerment.
To give you a sense of scale, our current projects include the creation of a single booking platform so that every customer gets the same, high-end experience and access to the best flights at the best prices, regardless of where they’re booking from.
IT is integral in helping our airline operate more effectively and more efficiently. From a wider business perspective, it’s the enabler behind our company’s transformation. So if you want to work on important projects that will drive real change, it’s time to fasten your seatbelt. Your journey starts here.
Across our three streams – Operative, Commercial and Shared Services – we need driven people who want to use their IT skills to make a tangible difference. The pace of change here is rapid, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast moving environment where each day can bring new challenges.
Beyond that, you’ll need to be open-minded and flexible. There’s a good chance you’ll need to undertake some travel and you’ll be working with people from all sorts of cultures and 70 different countries.
For our Operative and Commercial roles, previous airline experience would be ideal. But if you’re interested in joining us in project management, your specific background isn’t important as long as you have experience in running large-scale projects.
Why join us?
“From a customer perspective, the merger of our four airlines into one has been one of the most noticeable changes so far – and its one that’s making a real difference to their experience with us. In IT, we helped to power that transformation, and we’re not stopping there. There’s still a huge amount that we can do to make our airline even more streamlined, even more unified and even better for all the people that fly with it. It’s incredibly exciting to be part of that journey.”
